Calella holidays

GENERAL

Calella is home to one of the best beaches in Costa Brava. It's located on the sundrenched southern coast with miles of soft, white sand and sparkling waters. With an interesting old town to fuel days of sightseeing and situated just 40 minutes from the airport, it's a fine choice for family holidays and sun-worshippers.

Suitable for...

Holidays to Calella are ideal for children as well as couples and young groups looking for that old favourite - sun, sea and sand. As well as the beautiful beaches, there are a number of fun places to visit with kids nearby and a lively nightlife scene for those wanting to dance the night away.

Three beaches & a lovely old town...

The three beautiful beaches all have satin-soft sand and lovely shallow water, ideal for young kids playing on the shore. There are plenty of good facilities around, including snack bars and drinks kiosks, as well as well as sun loungers and parasols. After you've had your fill of sunbathing, wander out into old town Calella. Full of narrow little streets, it has retained its old Spanish charm and has some fascinating architecture worth seeing.

Things to do...

Plan a day out on your Calella holiday and take the kids to the Port Aventura theme park, an hour and a half or so down the coast. There are also a number of good golf courses in the vicinity, and vibrant Barcelona is under an hour's drive. Water sports are offered at several excellent centres, and range from waterskiing to wakeboarding to parasailing.

After dark...

As the sun goes down, there are plenty of family-friendly restaurants and cafés for a pleasant evening meal. If you try the old town, you could find some local restaurants or tapas bars for more authentic cuisine. The seafront comes alive at night, with a wide choice of clubs, bars, eateries and pubs catering for the young party crowd.
