San Antonio needs little introduction. But just for the record: it's the liveliest resort on the liveliest island in the Mediterranean. A global clubbing superstar, San Antonio is a spicy cocktail of famous clubs & famous DJs, sunset chill-out bars and bikini & kaftan-chic, sweetened with a golden Balearic beach.
San Antonio wraps around a picturesque natural bay. It has a wide sandy beach with a palm-fringed promenade and a bustling harbour area. With an electrified Balearic party scene, San Antonio holidays will suit clubbers and beach lovers.
San Antonio likes to live up to its reputation for hedonism. From start to finish, holidays here are one big beachside party in the Balearic sunshine. There's an A-list line-up of bars in town. From sports bars like Lineker's to hip pre-club venues Ibiza Rocks Bar. The flamboyant West End is where the top clubs reside. Here you'll legendary and Eden, while Es Paradis is just a five minute stroll from here.
Ibiza's other star clubs are around a 20 minute drive away, and you can always jump on the Disco Bus. Expect foam and water parties, dance extravaganzas, bangin' sound systems and appearances from top international DJs.
It's not all about nocturnal shenanigans though. When the Mediterranean sun is high in the sky, San Antonio's a pretty lovely place to be. The beach is gorgeous. It has soft golden sands that stretch for 500 metres along the coast, remaining 50 metres wide throughout. The water is warm and stays shallow reasonably far out; it's suitable for young children or maybe a few post-club party animals with hangovers so bad they haven't quite mastered walking again yet.
The beach has good amenities including showers, access for the disabled, sun loungers and parasols and lifeguards, while the promenade is lined with cool bars cafés. There's lots to do including scuba diving or parasailing, while you and your mates could rent out a little boat and take it out on the water (with a coolbox packed with beers).
West of the town lies the famous Sunset Strip, Calo d'es Moro. The most fashionable chill-out bars are all here - Café del Mar, Café Mambo, Savannah - will ambient Balearic beats playing as you watch the horizon, over a few cocktails. And hummus. Everyone loves hummus in Ibiza.
The Sunset Strip is here for a reason though - it's not just a cool place for a daiquiri - the sunsets are breathtaking. As the Balearic sun sinks it turns the sky deep orange, paving a radiant golden trail across the waters of the bay. This is the best make-your-friends-jealous Instagram photo opportunity on the island.
If you fancy really chilling out for a while or need to resist the temptation of starting on the cocktails too early, you can hop on a boat across the bay to the laid-back resort of San Antonio Bay. San Antonio is a lovely beach setting for family holidays; it's also good for those who want to be close to San Antonio's nightlife but based somewhere a little quieter.
